wrapping Night

Our annual Wrapping Night is a unique event that rallies over 500 local individuals together in the College of Charleston TD Arena to wrap over 2,500 toys. We call it organized chaos but believe us, it's a night you don't want to miss!

Delivery Day

If you adopted a classroom, this is where you get to meet the faces and see the smiles behind the gifts you intentionally bought! We know you have them in mind when collecting and wrapping their gifts and we are thrilled that every sponsor has the opportunity to meet the students and teachers they are loving on this Holiday season!

Thank you Corporate Sponsors!

The story

In her senior year of high school, Emily’s eyes were opened to the hardships of the students in her sister’s Title One  classroom. At her parent’s kitchen table, a group of teenagers developed a plan to bring joy and hope during the holidays to 40 low-income students. This holiday initiative became Charleston Hope’s “Adopt a Classroom”. By 2012, entire schools were being adopted and the vision to intentionally provide every Title 1 student with a brand new toy during the Holiday season was born.

Emily continued to expand this program while at the College of Charleston and then replicated the program in Akron, Ohio and Clemson, South Carolina with other college students. In 2017, Adopt a Classroom served a total of 13 Title 1 schools and over 5,000 students. Our program is not a toy drive but a unique opportunity for classroom sponsors to intentionally pick out gifts for their assigned classroom(s), attend Wrapping Night with 500 other community members, and have the chance to personally deliver the gifts to their classroom.
